While some say that they worked hard others would say that it was just luck. The truth is most of us that simply don’t know how to read the thin line between success and a matter of luck. Indeed, that’s one of the most difficult things to realize, because mysteriously they are so often tied one to another. In order to success it would by silly to just sit back and wait for a life changing twist of the destiny hoping that the universe is going to collaborate and look after for your prosperity. So what people often do is start building their future by working so hard. For instance, Warren Buffett, one of America’s most successful businessmen in history, started investing and studying so hard economics since he was about 12 years old. He didn’t sleep in the laurels. It wasn’t easy to get where he is today. Although, some people claim that he was so lucky to meet with rich fellows willing to lend him money, trusting their wealth into a young inexperienced man’s hand. There is the lucky factor in this story too.
Others seem to just be there when their opportunity fell down from the sky. Lots of celebrities, movie stars and top models have jumped into fame just because they were in the right place when a scout from a large entertainment company was walking around there. But what happen after? Following the first push they have to carry the weight all the way to the end. They have to work on their image. They have to keep themselves famous. They have to be accepted by their audience. Now we have the hard work theory in this case also.
I tend to think after reviewing these things that success and luck complement each other. Probably you will find more of one of them in a success story but definitely they both will appear in the credits. True be told, I wouldn’t wait for a scout or something to bring me the opportunity, I would go and try to reach it by myself. Moreover, it is never unwelcome if it comes up.
And for those who prefer Mathematics here goes my equation: Hard Work + Some Luck (not always required) = Success.
