Is Deception Ever Justified?

Deception is sometimes justified. People shouldn’t be satisfied with themselves when they play this card every time they can, but it is true that sometimes it is required. It shouldn’t be used fallowing a mean purpose as human ethic dictates; Actually it dictates that lies shouldn’t even exist in our thoughts. However people deceive, ignoring with that action this principle.
The best relationships are based in always telling the truth. That can get us strong commintment towards friends or causes, so strong that we would be willing to lie to protect them. Lying in order to cover a friend or an important cause is often considered as a good action depending on the scenario. Jose Marti, the most remarkable character in Cuban History, said that there are some things that in order to realize them you have to keep them in the shadows. Moreover, probably he had to lie one or two times to carry on with the Cuban revolution after all, but no one would dare to say that he was a mean man just because of that.
The feeling of guiltiness when you lie must not be lost. If that happen You'll get used to the shortcuts that a lie can provide, and therefore become ‘addict’ to it. Yes, lying deliberately can get those who don’t know when it’s better to say the truth in a hole very hard to come out .   Like a friend I have that is always customizing his stories making them so glorious that seem out of this world. At the end we always discover that those stories are lies, and he is trying to make us think that he is amazing. Ultimately we just stopped believing what he said; whether it is true or not. Now, it is so hard to trust in whatever came out of his mouth.
There is the difference between using deception because it’s necessary and for a major good, or because you like it. I would like to believe that I will always say the truth, unless there is a life or death matter on the table that requires me to lie. That is how, in my thought, humanity must behave.

  1. Is DECEPTION ever justified?
Whenever thought of deception or lying, the old admonition to me, 'speak the truth and shame the devil’, rings into my mind. ‘Honesty is the best policy’ n ever since I started my learning process this quote must have been told to me millions of time. But many times HONESTY comes at great personal cost and this led me to think about being it the best policy. There are occasions when truth has mixed blessing. So a question always strikes “Is DECEPTION ever justified?”
Yes, many people believe that it can be and this many people include me also. A lie can be sometimes harmless social untruth given that motives behind it should not be for mere personal gain or social unjust. It is also justified if the reasons behind it are morally just and unselfish. The thesis will be supported by examples from history as well as from literature. The In epic of Mahabharata, righteous Panamas were at verge of losing the war in front of evil Kauravas,it seemed unlikely that good would win over evil this time. But subtle deception changed the result of war in favour of Pandavas. Here deception was justified and no one can accuse Pandavas of moral crime.Truth has its version and its price to pay.In a society no one can always be straightforward and truthful, and if a person is,then he/she has to be prepared to stand solitary in the crowd. So we can’t expect everybody to go on ramping the truth .There is no nut shell type truth.Moral ethics and honesty can’t always make everybody happy. If small lie or deception can make a person a person feel happy in any way then it will not fall under moral unjust. If a person appreciate someone for something that he/she is not but that person feels good about herself then deception or lie is justified. No one can be brutally honest,a small lie/deception can be justified if one has a good intentions.
Despite the temptation deception has, truth has its own advantages.Deception is often a kind, protective gesture but truth offers a valuable knowledge.Deception sometimes is justifiable and even compassionate but it also holds future problems. So the use of deception is for limited time and pleasurable, because honesty lasts.

  2. This essay contains multiple contractions. Contractions should NEVER be used in essays. Some people use them to try to justify shorter word count. Most teachers are onto that tactic. Whether you were intending that or not, I do not know, but my advice: AVOID contractions at all costs in essays.
